How do I download an article that doesn't include a pdf attachment?

Answer

If you've located an article listing which does not provide a fully downloadable attachment (usually PDF), then that indicates the article (in full-text form) is not available as part of our subscription with that particular database provider (either due to publisher embargoes or other restrictions).

What you can do though is request that article via our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service. While it doesn't provide immediate access to the article, "borrowing" from another library is often a quick process for articles as they are exchanged electronically.

If you've never used our ILL service before, visit https://illiad.centre.edu and create an account using your Centre email address. Once you're logged in, enter the information about the journal article you need and submit. You will receive regular email updates concerning the status of your request.

For additional help with ILL, email ill@centre.edu.

For additional help searching for sources, consider making an appointment with a reference librarian for some one-on-one research help.
